It has been almost exactly a month since my last post where I talked about some of the changes I want to make this upcoming year. I thought this would be a good time to check in, to reevaluate, and tweak my goals accordingly. To be honest, I haven’t done as well as I had hoped, but I am not discouraged, I still managed to make some positive changes and I have some ideas for ways to do even better over the next month.
Things I did well:
- I cooked dinner fairly consistently: So I admittedly have fallen off the wagon the last week or so, we’ve eaten out more than I would like to admit. But, I have my meals planned for next week and I am getting back on track! This month I am continuing the goal of cooking 5-6 nights a week, but I am adding that at least half the meals will be “healthy. What I mean by healthy is that they will not be super creamy/cheesy/fattening, and I will work on adding more veggies and less carbs! I have some fun ideas for how to do this. Stay tuned.
- I worked out 5-6 times per week. I actually did really well with my working out! Like I said I have done it at least 5 times per week for the last month. However, my workouts were generally 10-15 minutes with no weights. So my goal is to keep working out with the same frequency, but to increase the time and intensity. I am contemplating getting gym membership to help with this. We’ll see.
Thing I need to work on this month:
- Water intake!
- Continuing to de-clutter and organize the house
- Keep working on that positive self talk!
A few other things:
So David’s work is doing a fitness challenge for the next two months. The company paid for everyone to weigh themselves on one of those fancy scales that break down your body composition and tell you what your body fat and muscle percentage is. The people who lose the most body fat over the two months win cash! It officially started today. Anyway, when David went and got his weight and measurements done he convinced the guy to let me come and do it for free. So now I know my body fat percentage and let me tell you it is depressing, and motivating! I am really excited though because now David is on a health kick, which of course makes it easier for me too. It’s always nice to have someone on the journey with you. I am excited to continue to get healthy and watch that body fat percentage drop! Another motivating factor for me to get healthy and improve my self confidence is that one of my best friends is getting married this summer and just asked me to be a bridesmaid. Her wedding is at the end of July, so I have just shy of 6 months to get it together and feel confident and beautiful on her wedding day! Here’s to a great month!
